I used to be known as a pretty shy kid.
.
My friend group was small, and rarely got to know new people.
.
Today, meeting people and building relationships is one of my favorite things about my “job”.
.
I don’t know that it was ever that I was shy, I was just wasn’t interested in talking to people. Working in “sales” has really forced me to think differently.
.
In the beginning I was taught by @andyfrisella and @jeff_wasserman that if you make a friend you make a sale. So I started just trying to make friends, and I quickly found that almost everyone I met was so much more interesting and a whole lot nicer than I would have thought.
.
Not only do I enjoy this now, it is how we do business. We don’t spend a ton of money on ads, and we don’t run gimmicky schemes to make sales. We get out there, meet influencers in the community, build relationships, introduce each other to more people in the community, work together, help people, and grow.
.
This picture was taken a few months ago after a workout with @thetdave , owner operator of @thegym_okc . It was a great workout, and we got to talk a lot of business. We’ve had a ton of his members become customers with us, and I can only hope that we have been able to repay the favor.
.
Now we workout together on the last Tuesday of every month. It’s become less about business, and more about just enjoying the company of a good friend. Of course we still talk business, but it’s more about the struggles we are dealing with, the accomplishments we have achieved, strategies and overall life views. And as it turns out we are so much more like minded than I would have guessed.
.
I am grateful for the relationship that I have been able to build with Taylor, and with so many others in the community. There are so many genuinely good people out there and I can’t wait to meet more.
