This picture was taken on a Saturday Night about a week and a half ago.
.
This particular Saturday was one that I was supposed to have off and was going to spend some time buying some new clothes.
.
Then I was reminded of a morning event we needed to be at. No big deal, I’ll hit that and then have the rest of the day off.
.
Then I started to realize that this event was going to be a LOT bigger than I thought. So I asked @alfonso_lopez if he could come help out for the morning instead of doing his normal sample event the following Monday. He was happy to.
.
When we got to the event, it turned out to be WAY bigger than we expected. We probably could have used 6 people there. I was personally expecting it to go until about noon, but we didn’t get back to the store until 3:30pm. This is alright, we were happy the event went so well.
.
I then planned to knock out some thank you cards and head home to relax the rest of the day, but the event brought so many people into the store that I ended up helping @trace.thews with customers until about close (7:00pm).
.
I still had all of my thank you cards to do, they were due the day before, and I had a ton to do the following day. So Trace and I sat in the back of the store until at least 8:00pm knocking out thank you cards to new and loyal customers.
.
It’s dark out, we’re closed, there’s a ton of work thrown on the desk, remnants of a meal eaten while working, personal belongings scattered about, coolers still in the background from the event, and an employee or two diligently working away. This is a very familiar scene.
.
So this is what my Saturday Off looked like. A close to twelve hour shift. An event, taking customers, and backend work. It’s a little more extreme than most “days off”, but generally pretty typical.
.
It might sound like I’m complaining, but I promise I’m not. I love that we have events to attend and people to meet. I love that we have customers coming in and even need two people on staff. I love that this gives us more thank you cards to write. I love working to grow the business, and love that I have the best guys in the world to be right there with me through it all.
